I recently watched and enjoyed Eyes Wide Shut. It’s bad that I wish this entire montage of scenes would’ve lasted much longer. (And that they could’ve done without some of those cheesy masks and the cult shit.)

It’s crazy how the other options don’t even cross my mind.
The fact stands that I don’t have to kneel. I don’t have to follow the routines, the orders, the reminders. I don’t have to abstain when I’m told and I don’t have to indulge when I’m told, either. I don’t have to reach the standard that is expected. There’s room for slippage and for coming up short.
But that never occurs to me until it’s pointed out later. And, by that point, I don’t want to think about the other options at all.

My girl A’s boyfriend is an international student here from one of “those” countries. He’s very progressive, despite having spent his whole life in a very conservative area. But, that’s apparently not as uncommon as the media makes it out to be.
He’s apparently been getting a lot of crap for dating A. She’s American. She’s biracial, but not of his race on either side. She’s in no way slutty, but the fact that the two of them want to hold hands in public, here in America, has really upset some of his more conservative friends who go to school here.
So I give him a ton of props for staying in a relationship with her. Sure, she’s gorgeous and funny and awesome. But the fact that he has to handle so much bullshit about it really proves to me that he’s a keeper. And I’m very, very proud to call him one of my best friends.
Fuck yeah revolution.
