Dear Ivy, this might seem like a weird question or maybe too personal (which is kind of ironic, considering the nature of this blog), but I’ve been following your tumblr for a long time and I noticed that you never mentioned any actual intercourse in none of your previous stories. Only recently you’ve mentioned it, in your latest posts about Crafstmate. So my question is, do you avoid intercourse with “play” partners other than your “official” boyfriend?

I don’t like full-on intercourse with people who I don’t have an emotional connection with. I consider sex to be a pretty vulnerable thing (as much as it can be fun and sexy and silly) and I want there to be a strong degree of trust there, whether the person is a primary or a secondary partner.

If you want to call it intimacy issues, go ahead. But it’s just my preference.

Also, intercourse is just kind of boring and redundant to write about in general. Scissoring is kind of just scissoring until it’s not scissoring. A penis entering and exiting a vagina can only be described in so many words before it gets hokey.

Two other women, also breast cancer survivors, said their husbands left them after they were diagnosed. Both had to have mastectomies (in case anyone doesn’t know, this is the surgical operation to remove one or both breasts).

The first woman said her husband told her that he would rather see her dead than see her lose her breasts. The second woman had her operation and waited all day to be picked up by her husband, who never arrived. By nightfall, one of the nurses offered to give her a ride, and she came home to find the house empty.

Obviously, these are extreme cases of a man’s reaction to his wife’s breast cancer, but this is what I see when I see the “I ♥ Boobies” bracelets. I see love of the body parts, not the person being treated—not the patient, not the victim, not the survivor.

Ugh. Thank you. I absolutely hate these bracelets with a passion.

My father left my mother after she was diagnosed and he figured out that she would survive. I consider what he did to be one of the biggest acts of cowardice I’ve ever witnessed.

And I consider these bracelets to be one of the most non-committal, shallow forms of support ever.

Sometimes I just sit around, eat half a cantaloupe, look at photos of Willam and consider that I’ll never quite be half the goddess this queen is.

A neo-Nazi Russian group has taken to social media to publicise images and videos of gay teenagers lured in on the promise of a date, before torturing them and forcing them to come out to friends and family on video.

I DON’T CARE WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT ARE YOU DOING ON MY BLOG BUT YOU HAVE REBLOG THIS. I just don’t care. It’s time to boycott Russian Olimpics and don’t buy Russian vodka.

Even foreigners can be arrested in Russia now because of Putin’s anti-gay laws. This shit is serious and fucking archaic. Not only that, but the built up homophobia and hatred that has turned to violence is just atrocious.
