I’d say this is about where it started for me. I got such a swimmy feeling whenever I’d see a Damsel in Distress scene. When I was a little girl, I’d keep rewinding and replaying the VHS to watch those scenes over and over and over.
I admit a certain weakness for Damsels in Distress from a very early age. This one is an interesting take on the idea. Not tied up, but certainly summoning some kind of rescue.
