Completely random but how bad do cramps get for you? I been doing this last week thing every month for eight years now and it hurts so bad I’m honestly considering having my uterus surgically removed XP

Standard

Woah okay number one let’s not joke about hysterectomies. Someone very close to me had to get one because of an actual emergency and it is one of the most physically traumatic surgeries. It fucks up your hormones, it sends you into an early, induced menopause and it can cause all kinds of mental health issues. Also, you’ll sometimes still have the hormone changes associated with menstruation without any of the bleeding.

The woman in my life who had to get one, after fighting tooth and nail not to and finally accepting it as a last resort **TO SURVIVE** now lives with depression, became an alcoholic, and feels like she “isn’t a woman anymore” because of it. She’s genuinely scared to date people because of her scars and because she doesn’t feel she’s “woman enough” for anyone, no matter what we try to tell her to the contrary. So, let’s not joke about that?

I used to have massively terrible cramps. Like, not able to stand up cramps. Getting on birth control really helped. Maybe you should go see a gynecologist, who will undoubtedly be more of an expert on this than I. But I know it took me two different tries at birth control to find a pill that works for me, and now I’ve got bigger boobs and no cramps so I guess everything worked out.
