THIS WAS ON NATIONAL TELEVISION šŸ‘šŸ¾šŸ‘šŸ¾ realist shit ever

You’re black you should know better about not voting. If black people didnt vote a republican would win and that’s???? Bad for the community right?

Standard

pure:

there are black people who have abstained from voting for presidential candidates since the right to vote was won in the united states. a black person who does not vote because they have nothing to vote for should be the least surprising to you. black people will continue to be abused by the u.s. empire no matter who leads it, democrat, republican, or otherwise. to suggest we’re responsible for how they will abuse us, whether we vote or not, is grotesque.

i would have blocked this anon, but i will use it as an opportunity to say something else. i do not mind whether you vote or not; i want you to do either of these things without illusions as to how your vote functions and i want people to know the true nature of who they vote for without downplaying the role of the head of state – that is, all the exploitative acts the head of state will perpetuate here and abroad due to leading a terrorist nation which both democrats and republicans adhere to. abstaining or not does not make you a liberal or radical; we are all implicated in the united state’s actions here and abroad to varying degrees, some more intentional than others. however, i will block any and everyone i see who blames the working class communities for what the ruling class is responsible for. the ā€œif you do not vote, and a republican presidential candidate wins, you are responsible for your own abuses and my abuses via the stateā€ line of thought is a hallmark of why liberalism does not serve any favors to the people they claim to have a voice for. be angry, be passionate, but do not put the people either candidate will exploit on trial.

to self proclaimed social justice bloggers, anti-racists, feminists, lgbt activists, anti-ableists et. al. who are doing the above under the guise of something good or noble: the working class people in the united states who choose not to vote or are unable to vote and even the ones that do vote are not responsible for how these worthless politicians, both democrat and republican, who are elected to the head of state, will abuse us. people who abstain, whether they do so for personal reasons or if they are unable to or due to ā€˜aparhy,’ are overwhelmingly working class. the marginalized communities within the working class who choose not to vote or choose to vote for someone you do not approve are not the barriers to your access to gay marriage or trans ā€œvisibilityā€ or abortion and the like. we are not ā€œletting [x candidate you do not like] win.ā€ those responsible would be the ruling class. do not blame us if your imperialist of choice ends up not winning. blame the ruling class who forced onto us the lie that there are only two equally oppressive choices to begin with. thank you.

Yo, wtf is this shit?! This man is trying to make a difference but y’all won’t let him, let this man do his thing cause he’s proven that he’s here for us that he wants change, if anything y’all need to interrupt Trump, Rand Paul, Ted Cruz hell even Hillary Clinton. Wtf is this going to solve by interrupting someone who constantly shows his support for us?

Edit: this is not an attack on The Black Lives Matter Movement, I still support the movement but this act was unnecessary. The only positive thing that came from this is that it showed us that white liberals aren’t as progressive as they think.

No but see here’s the thing.

BLM has been asking Sanders for a plan. Sanders has, frankly, responded poorly. He has insisted that racial inequality comes from economic inequality and that if he solves one it will solve the other.

Yes. This happened. As though there is no racism. As though there is only classism.

BLM (rightfully) didn’t accept that, and stepped their game up. Twice they have interrupted his rallies because, frankly, his plans as they stood were not going to help black people.

Lo and behold – Bernie wised up. He called an attorney and member of BLM and (importantly) black woman, Symone Sanders (no relation). And he said, ā€œWhat am I doing wrong?ā€

In a long meeting, she told him. And at the end of that meeting, he hired her as his new press secretary. Now he has released an ACTUAL PLAN for criminal justice reform. Now he has pledged ACTUAL SUPPORT to BLM.

Saying you want to help is not the same as helping. Black people were not obligated to give Bernie a pass just because he said his plan would help them, when he would not even listen to them or accept their criticism of his platform.

Now he is listening. Now he has to follow through. And we should not be critical of the protesters who got through to him, when no one else could, and made him see the error of his ways.

THANK YOU
