16. Favorite quote: I don’t have one, to be quite honest, though there’s plenty I’ve read and enjoyed. It would likely be Audre Lorde, if we’re going by whose words have impacted me the most.
Quotes are more of a passing fancy for me–great when they resonate, but I have a short memory. At one point, I had memorized a passage from the children’s book The Killer’s Tears, and there’s plenty of odd bits of Shakespeare rattling around in there. Ultimately, for me, it’s more about the experience of coming across the words than the words themselves. (Though I do wish I had some shored up for myself, as folks do.)
36. Favorite food: Listen, in some ways this is really hard because I like a lot of different types of food. (After a bad day, moules frites with a close friend is like visiting heaven.) But in other ways it’s incredibly easy because cheeseburgers. Cheeseburgers cheeseburgers cheeseburgers.
39. Do you have a crush: lol @ “a”. I’m dating someone right now who’s pretty fucking fantastic. I have a number of inappropriate, unfulfillable desires for older men at work. I see gorgeous queer people all the time, and it gets in the way of my ability to live a wholesome and satisfied life. Is that what a crush is?
45. Wearing any bracelets: I’ve been really into rocks these days. I wear one bracelet each of onyx, moonstone, and green aventurine, which feels like just the right balance for me right now.
The real glo up is when you stop waiting to turn into some perfect hypothetical version of yourself and consciously enjoy being who you are in the present moment.
