I have no basis to this other than my own personal experience, and the experiences of the few lesbians I know irl. But I’m convinced the average age lesbians realize their sexuality is waaaay higher than that of gay men. Even for straight women, being emotionally and sexually unsatisfied by the men you invest time and interest in is so…normal? Emotional and sexual fulfillment is just not a priority for women when dating men, what’s prioritized is making sure you can efficiently perform the role of a male feelings/cum receptacle. Coming to terms with the fact that you aren’t satisfied by relationships with men because you’re gay, and not just because dating men is generally unfulfilling is so…hard? Every single gay man I know has told me they realized they were gay at some point between elementary school and high school, and almost none of them have doubted themselves enough to force themselves into performing traumatizing sexual acts that don’t feel natural out of obligation. I see so many more accounts of women not realizing they don’t fucking like men until later in life, after being married to men even. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that virtually every lesbian I know minus one has had sex with men before coming to terms with her sexuality.
