Sex Toy Review: Tantus “Plunge Paddle

I got this in my latest order from Tantus and I’ve been psyched over this thing since the first time I saw it on their website because this is a combination paddle/dildo made with the most luxurious silicone you ever did feel and it’s called the Plunge Paddle

The Plunge Paddle comes in black and is just over 12” long. This includes 6” of insertable dildo length and about 6” in paddle surface area. The dildo’s diameter is about 1.25”, and the paddle’s width is just about 2.5”. This means that the dildo-aspect of this toy is quite average for most users, whether you want to use it vaginally or anally.

Like most Tantus toys, the Plunge Paddle is made with 100% high-quality silicone. This means it’s body-safe and is super easy to clean. You can simply wash it with soap and warm water for solo use or you can sterilize it in a number of different ways if you’re sharing it with partners or going from anal to vaginal use. You can boil it for five minutes, put it in the dishwasher, or soak it in a 5% bleach solution after a regular cleaning in order to sterilize it.

With it being silicone, you should also remember only to use only water-based lubricant with this toy. Silicone lubricant can break down the surface and make it less safe.

The texture of the silicone itself is like velvet! It’s amazingly smooth, super comfortable, and completely non-porous. As for the texture of the dildo, there is very little. Along the shaft of the dildo is a defined ridge, but other than that and a very subtle seam along the side, there is no bumpy or veined texture. The head of the dildo is defined, though, as you can see in the photos.

The paddle-aspect of this toy was fantastic. It’s silky smooth, but stings like a bitch. In fact, I would say this paddle is absolutely for more advanced users. I remember when I got my first Tantus silicone paddle, the Pelt, I thought, “I hope this isn’t some shitty beginner’s paddle.”

No. Absolutely not for beginners. Silicone has a lot of flex and some decent weight to it, so you get a crack out of them. It’s a bit thuddy and stingy, depending on how you hit. It’s a wonderful paddle that feels great and turns my ass red with barely any effort.

Literally the only thing I didn’t like about this toy was the hole through the head of the dildo. This originally comes with a tag, but is used for a hanging strap. While I like the ability to hang this with my other paddles, it becomes a problem when it’s through the actual dildo. After using the dildo vaginally, I found it annoying to clean the small hole. Eventually, I just got some cotton swabs and made sure the surface was free from vaginal fluid, but I can foresee this being an issue for cleaning if you don’t sanitize your toys each time, as fluids may dry in there. However, like I said, with a little focus on the area, cleaning is not a problem, just a little annoying if you’re not sanitizing each time. No biggie!

Overall, I highly recommend this toy—though, I absolutely suggest you don’t get this if you’re looking for a primary dildo, as it’s a bit awkward for solo use and isn’t much compared to their other dildos. However, if you want a toy that you can use during foreplay and some impact-play, this is really handy. It cuts down on packing if you’re going away, makes for fun tease and denial scenes without switching toys, and is an all-around quality product that more advanced kinksters should have in their toy box. If you haven’t tried a silicone paddle yet and are interested, you can also check out options here that don’t have the dildo handle.
