It’s always comforting to see those real world captions. Because I expect that, “With all due respect, Sir, you’re kind of an asshole,” will forever be my trademark line. I can’t stop the snark, but I can muster appropriate amounts of respect. And what I’m looking for in a Dom is someone who will challenge me to keep up with them, and love it when I beat them. It’s refreshing to see Dominants who aren’t afraid of intelligence and wit, even in serious moments.

Hahaha, that’s one hell of a trademark line! You’ll definitely want to submit to a Dom who laughs when you stick “With all due respect” in front of “you’re kind of an asshole.” Personally, I’d fall out laughing; if it happened in a scene, I’d lose my erection and be thrown off my game and give a big hug followed by an affectionate slap on the ass and, pointing down, growl “Oh dear, Mister Happy looks a bit droopy. You need to fix that.”

Now, not all Doms are like that, to be clear. Some – especially, but not exclusively younger Doms – will brook no sass or banter or attitude, even if done “with respect.” That’s their prerogative, and they will find and cherish the kind of submissive who works best within their framework of dominance. Dominants are people, after all, as are submissives. We’re all different, and we all savor and enjoy different things in our D/s relationships. Because, after all, a D/s relationship is just that – a relationship.
