The scholar-athletes of the St Tantalus Academy, such as they are, are not in fact known as the Spartans. It’s just that there is a long tradition among their rival schools of bringing one’s own branded gear to matches against them, in the understanding that, post-loss, this position will be the first of several the St Tantalus girls are required to take.
