I’m sure it does. I used to be very all or nothing, black and white about roles. I couldn’t take someone seriously as a dom if I knew they played sub.
Then I grew up.
I realized that those who play both roles have unique insights into those roles.
That a masochist topping another masochist is less likely to hold back, because they actually understand the need.
That someone who has begged for humiliation themselves is actually brilliant at visiting humiliation upon another.
That you can take your fantasies and act them out from any side and find them just as fulfilling.
That a sub may understand a mindfuck better than anyone, having been on the receiving end of one themselves.
That’s why I enjoy switching, why I run two blogs, and why I’m good at what I do.
